Hot Tips To Make Gardening Easier

One of the ways to make gardening fun is to make it easy. Now sometimes you are doing a job that ought to be easy but for some reason it is not. And it’s backbreaking, tedious, or boring work.

Here’s a case in point. You have a steel rake and you’re trying to rake some twigs and debris out of your lawn. But the teeth of the rake are catching on the grass and you’re not getting raked up what you want to get raked up. In fact what you’re getting is exasperated and upset. Like that.

Here’s an idea that will help you out. Go down your local craft store and get a couple of ornamental wooden balls, drill a hole in them down in your workshop, and then place the wooden ball on the outside tines on the rake. The next time you rake the balls will hold your tines above the grass and make the job simple.

And here is another little idea to help make your gardening life simple. Coiling up a hose. How many times have you pulled a hose out only to find it’s knotted, twisted and kinked up. The reason is you coiled it in a circular pattern and you put a half twist to the left with every coil.

An alternate way to coil a hose is to coil it in a figure eight. That way you put a half twist to the left and a half twist to the right. And when you pull the hose out it’s not knotted, twisted or kinked.

For adjusting your rake for twigs and debris:

  • Purchase a couple of ornamental wooden balls from a craft store.
  • Drill a hole in each wooden ball.
  • Place the balls on the outside tines of your rake to hold the tines above the grass.
